National Pan-Hellenic Council of Montgomery County, Maryland
NPHC MOCO, MD.
President's Message
Greetings, and welcome to the 2024-2026 National Pan-Hellenic Council of Montgomery
County, Maryland (NPHC-MCMD) administration! My name is David Harris and as President of
the NPHC-MCMD, it is my great honor to bring greetings on behalf of the Divine Nine of
Montgomery County, MD.
I’ve been a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated for over thirty years.
Inducted in 1992, as a member of the Silver Spring Alumni (SSA) Chapter, I’m a current member
of the College Park/Sandy Spring (CPSS) Alumni Chapter.
For this administration, my goal is to support our Divine Nine member organizations in our
collective efforts to serve our community and to build strength through unity. The Pan-Hellenic
Council of Montgomery County has a very long legacy of recognizing the scholarship and service
of our highly talented youth. We recognize their achievements through our annual NPHC-
MCMD scholarship awards programs and it is my hope to build and expand these programs
during this administrative term.
Young students now have to be globally competitive, and the Council aims to support the
development of high levels of academic excellence and leadership skills of our young men and
women by supporting the youth mentoring, academic enrichment, and leadership development
programs sponsored by our Divine Nine member organizations in Montgomery County. It is
very important to help the next generation of talented young scholars as they will become the
future leaders and achievers in our community and our great nation.
Our Council also has a long legacy of providing community service, resources, and assistance to
those in our community who are facing challenges and hardships. Finally, the Pan-Hellenic
Council is a strong advocate of voting rights and voter empowerment as it is so important for
everyone to have their voice heard and to know that their voice matters at the ballot box. This
administration will continue to strongly support voting awareness and voting access to achieve
high voter turnout rates in our community.
In closing, when I think about the Divine Nine, I’m reminded of the lyrics - “A movement by
ourselves. A force when we’re together!”
Yours Truly in Greekdom,

David Harris, Sr., President
